Eminent Indian artist and scholar Late M.V.Devan, was the Guru of Kaladharan in painting and sculpture. Kaladharan has held 56 Solo Exhibitions from 1978 to 2016 in prominent galleries across India including Ravindra Bhavan, New Delhi and Jahangir Art Gallery Mumbai. He has also attended workshops and held exhibitions of his works in Germany and Netherlands.

He has been the recipient of numerous Certificates of Commendation and Awards, including the Kerala Lalithakala Academy award, the most prestigious honor for an artist in Kerala. Kaladharan has also been a Fellow of the Academy.

Kaladharan is known for his organizing abilities. He has been associated with many international art and sculpture workshops and been the convener of most of them. The Master has also worked as the art director of tele and feature film. He is the founder member of Cochin Film Society and the ‘Monday Theatre’.

Most notable of all is that he is the honorary secretary of Kerala Kalapeetom, an institute of Arts, the nerve centre of most of the cultural activities of Cochin since 1985 An institution in himself, he is the Guru of hundreds of prominent and budding artists across generations.
